I found it quite interesting since I am an avid To-Do list writer. I make many lists of things that I hope to accomplish. I can't say that I'm good at always following the list and completing my tasks in a timely manner however. Sorta like my blog. I signed up in 2004...well you can read the previous post to see how well that's been going. Oh, sure I have a ton of excuses...I'm so busy with the kids and work and the house....blah, blah, blah. Most of the time I just forget to look at the list. Sometimes if I make a list the night before it will stay perched upon my nightstand for who knows how long, a day, week, month, 2 years....yes I just crossed off an item from my list today that I have been transfering from list to list to list for more than 2 years. I found it a bit ironic that I came across the To-Do list blog on this very day. I'm sure if I look around the house, I was going to say look hard enough, but I don't really think I have to look hard to find a handful of lists here and there. On rare occasion I do cross off everything on my list for the day, on RARE occasion. Often times it's not my fault things don't get done. Take for instance last Tuesday, I took my car in to get new tires. Of course my car takes a special size and they only carry one style in the size I needed, and they only had 1 tire in that size. They won't have more in stock until next week....transfer new tires to a new list for next week. If you watch the You Tube video on the To-Do list blog, at the very end of the video the news caster mentions that she will have a list for the day and if she accomplishes something else that wasn't on the list she will write that on the list and cross it out.....I do that too!! I try to go through my planner at the begining of the month and fill in the things I know are going to happen, like my work schedule, kids practices and games, Dr. appts, etc. Sometimes it will be a week before I actually go back and look at my planner and I will fill in things that I have done a few days before and then check it off. What's up with that? Sasha Cagen, who is the creator of the To-Do list magazine, blog, and book, asked people to send her their to-do lists. She was amazed by the number of people that actually did it. With all the new technology of computers, cell phones, and PDAs, Sasha is wondering if the paper and pen lists are endangered of becoming extinct in the future. She has put out a call to save the To-Do list and still wants people to send her their lists. So as I have been typing this post I have also been looking for one of my lists. I have a little notebook I carry in my purse for writing down whatever I need to write down. I actually cleaned it out not too long ago and I know I threw out some good lists, anyway I have posted one of the lists still in there. Interesting that I made a list things my kids should have on a list. I have been meaning to type out, laminate and post this list in the kids bathroom...yes that says flush, they often just seem to forget...
